Ekovest Bhd managing director Datuk Lim Keng Cheng yesterday said the firm has completed 45% of the phase two of the Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (Duke) connecting the east and west of the capital via a 7km link from Sri Damansara and a 9km link from Jalan Tun Razak.
“As for Duke 3 (third phase of the expressway), we’d just sent our agreement to the government and is now awaiting approval.”
Lim said that the company plans to start work on the project next year and completes it within 3½ years. He said the project is part of the Duke masterplan to complement the traffic dispersal system in and around Kuala Lumpur city centre.
Linking the north and south of the capital, Duke 3 will pass through areas, including Setapak (near Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman), Wangsa Maju, Setiawangsa, Ampang, the Tun Razak Exchange, Salak South, Seputeh, and Kerinchi.
Lim said the company is also confident of achieving RM100 million in revenue for the financial year ending June 30, 2015 from the first phase of Duke linking the eastern side of Kuala Lumpur near Taman Hillview.
Ekovest will also launch a mix-development project, EkoTitiwangsa, with a combined gross development value of RM10 billion, on Saturday.
The project comprises three blocks of serviced apartments, car showrooms, food and beverages outlets, and retail shops, and a hotel, apart from beautification works under the River of Life (RoL) project at Precinct 7.
The RoL is a seven-year anchor project under the Economic Transformation Programme for Greater KL that aims at breathing new life into the polluted Klang and Gombak rivers.
Ekovest and Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd are project delivery partners for the RoL project.
