IKEA CHERAS OPENING IN END 2015
We are excited to confirm that the IKEA store in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur is setĀ to open by the end of 2015. Located at Jalan Cochrane, the new store alsoĀ marks our second outlet to be launched in Malaysia.
IKEA opened its first store in Malaysia at 1 Utama Shopping Mall in 1996. WithĀ the support of Malaysian fans and customers, we grew from our humbleĀ beginnings and moved into our standalone store in Mutiara Damansara in 2003;Ā the biggest IKEA store in Asia at that time. Continuing our journey here, theĀ upcoming store in Cheras will be our biggest yet in Malaysia with an overall storeĀ size that is 20 percent larger than IKEA Damansara.
The opening of IKEA Cheras is part of our overall expansion plan acrossĀ Southeast Asia in order to make Swedish home furnishings that are affordable,Ā well-designed, functional and good quality available to everyone.
The development is currently ongoing as we progress to focus on the interiorĀ fittings and operational setup of the store. Further details will be unveiled overĀ the coming months.
