Located in Jalan Cochrane, customers will be able to enjoy Ikea’s distinctive brand of Scandinavian design in a much larger space. Spanning 42,000 square metres, Ikea Cheras is 20% bigger than its Mutiara Damansara store.

IKEA CHERAS OPENING IN END 2015

We are excited to confirm that the IKEA store in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur is set to open by the end of 2015. Located at Jalan Cochrane, the new store also marks our second outlet to be launched in Malaysia.

IKEA opened its first store in Malaysia at 1 Utama Shopping Mall in 1996. With the support of Malaysian fans and customers, we grew from our humble beginnings and moved into our standalone store in Mutiara Damansara in 2003; the biggest IKEA store in Asia at that time. Continuing our journey here, the upcoming store in Cheras will be our biggest yet in Malaysia with an overall store size that is 20 percent larger than IKEA Damansara.

The opening of IKEA Cheras is part of our overall expansion plan across Southeast Asia in order to make Swedish home furnishings that are affordable, well-designed, functional and good quality available to everyone.

The development is currently ongoing as we progress to focus on the interior fittings and operational setup of the store. Further details will be unveiled over the coming months.
