Mandatory waste separation at source starts in Pahang, Johor, Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Perlis, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur today.

The programme aims to reduce delivery of solid waste to garbage disposal sites yet many still remain in the dark over the initiative.

Bukit Bandaraya Residents Association president Datuk M. Ali said that authorities had done a poor job of properly raising awareness and had only a few days ago delivered brochures about the waste separation scheme.
